WHERE IS GRJ THIS YEAR?

GRJ2016 will be at JVS, 853-855 Finchley Road, London, NW11 8LX.  Please remember that we have sold out, and so our security and welcome desk will only let you in if you have booked in advance.

What's the schedule for Yom Kippur?

Kol Nidrei & Maariv are on Tuesday 11 October at 6pm. On Wednesday, Roots Services begin at 8.45am and Parallel Sessions run from 10am-5.30pm.
Other services timings are: 9.15am (Shacharit), 11am (Torah Service) 12.15pm (Yizkor), 12.45pm (Musaf), 3.45pm (Mincha), 5.30pm (Neilah), 6.50pm (Ma'ariv), 7.02pm (fast ends), 7.10pm (Havdalah)

can I JUST SHOW UP ON THE DAY?

Sadly not! GRJ2016 has sold out and the building has a maximum capacity, so we can't let more people in.  Everyone who wants to attend Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services must have registered in advance. However, you can join us for our 10 Days Programme. Click on the GRJ2016 Events link in the menu for more info.

WHICH MEMBERSHIP IS FOR ME?

£40 Standard Membership is for those of us who are aged 16-65, and non-concession..
£20 Concession Membership is strictly for those of us who are full time students, carers or homemakers, unemployed,  receiving Job Seekers Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, or Personal Independence Payment, or Retired and aged 65+.
FREE Membership is for those of us who are 15 years old and younger , and must be registered by a paying member. Hooray!

CAN I GET BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS?

Financial Aid: GRJ2016 does not seek to make a profit, but we have budgeted for a small pot to assist those of us who are in need. Please don't feel ashamed to ask - we all need help sometimes. Email us at grassrootsjews@gmail.com with 'Financial Aid' in the subject header.

i'm only coming for part of the event, can i pay a lower fee?

No, and there's a couple of reasons for that. Firstly, the community we create together begins now, and isn't over until the last piece of dust is swept up over Yom Kippur. Your Membership is for more than just Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.   Secondly, we do not have the spare volunteer hours to oversee the demands of a complex variable ticketing process. Please do not buy concession fees, as they are for those of us who need that financial assistance.

WHat does my money pay for?

GRJ runs on its own volunteer  power, but there are many things we have to hire and pay for, from the venue itself to enough chairs for everyone to sit on. We couldn't do it without our combined investment. Thank you so much!

IS THE BUILDING ACCESSIBLE FOR WHEELCHAIRS?

The building is about to have a refurbishment which will make it wheelchair accessible, but sadly not before GRJ2016.  The are a few steps up and down to reach the marquee in the garden.  Please email us if you have further questions.

Is there a dresscode?

No, nothing specific. Some of us like to dress up in style, some of us like to relax in our slouchiest clothes. Come as you are.

WHEN IS GRJ2016?

GRJ2016 is happening right now! We are in the act of creating a unique experience of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and learning, growing and be-friending each other as we go. If you mean, "when are the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services?", that'll be on the 3rd, 4th, the evening of the 11th, and the 12th October 2016.
