Hello. What’s happening for Kids at Grassroots on YOM KIPPUR:
1100 - The lovely Sami Walbury will run a fun and games session for kids of all ages.
1115 - The wonderful Ruth Glantz is running a fun interactive theatre show for kids of all ages.
There is also a kids room where kids can play, read and chill.

We welcome babies and children to attend all elements of our high holy days celebration.
Feel free to breastfeed wherever you wish.
We are creating a dedicated kids room where there will be books, toys, snacks and baby changing facilities.
Please be aware that you will need to supervise your children at all times.
You must include your children on your registration when you book, otherwise we can’t accurately know how many people will be joining us - under 16s can attend GRJ for free, we just need to know their names and ages please.
WHATS ON FOR KIDS?
ROSH HASHANA DAY ONE
Roving Shofar workshop for kids. (10 mins). Show kids the shofar. What is it for ? How is it made? Why is it from a Ram? This workshop will happen (spontaneously) at various junctures throughout the event.

Story time for kids ages 3 to 6.
Laura Citron storytime for younger kids. Rosh Hashana story about a little apple tree who learns to love himself … with interaction and apple snacks!

Create a bibliodrama play about the Akeida with Michal Zweig, for younger kids.
20-30 minute session. On Rosh Hashana we read from the Torah all about the story of the binding of Isaac. God asks Avraham to sacrifice his son Yitzchak. Come and learn about this story through drama with Michal Zweig.
Michal is a former cheder teacher at New London Synagogue.
1130 Sarah Bronzite for older kids, aged 8 upwards
Is Abraham a good guy or a bad guy? (Are we even allowed to ask that question?!) In this session we're going to look at how Abraham treats the people around him, and in particular at the story we read about him on Rosh Hashanah. Come along and help us decide.

Daniella Peled and Adam Peled present: Rosh Hashana Treasure Hunt and Bingo. Learn about Rosh Hashana with these fun games.
YOM KIPPUR
1200 Kids will create a facilitated theatre performance with costumes and props where we will learn about some of the biblical stories we read at the high holidays. RUTH GLANTZ has run theatre and music workshops for 18 years, including with several synagogues and PJ Library.
